Dubai has always been
a leader in innovation and responsible behavior.
I believe that the attempt to create more sustainable
cities can actually help our environment and the economy, as well as make big
cities more livable for the citizens. I searched the web a little and lots of
companies are now focusing on developing new technologies and changing the
appearance of big cities. Siemens, for instance, has just launched a new
website: http://www.siemens.ae/sustaina...

Re: How can we shape a sustainable Artscape in UAE?

i need a name of artscape artist who is living and working in dubai or middle east area ans has some previous artscape work in streets in middle east

Re: My Gifts from SustainabilityCamp

yep. it's easy to criticize. much more difficult to be the change.

Re: Is the Youth Culture a myth?

Hey Kamyar, I look forward to meeting you on saturday and hopefully we would be able to find a few answers. =)

Re: Is the Youth Culture a myth?

I like your question of "what is it that we’re missing that stops this visible cultural diversity from melting into the same pot?" and I would love to contribute to the dialogue. Thoughtful. Post. I will reflect on it.

I'm delighted you enjoyed the Hooks session. Interestingly, the idea of exploring Choas/Randomness & Order/Structure came to me when the time for my session expanded from 45 minutes to 60 minutes - i.e. more space became available. In my experience, chaos often occupies more time/space than structure.

This was first time I have done this session. It was an experiment. Every time I do a workshop, I try something new, take a risk, go to unexplored territory. This results in continuous learning opportunities for self and participants and keeps my work fresh and dynamic.

Re: My Gifts of DoCamp 2010

Pure Beauty.... :) ~~~

Re: Community Talkback at DoCamp with Campus Radio ME

I've actually never listened to any of your sessions (very sad fact) but I believe its a GREAT initiative. Joumana, the questions you asked are perfectly put to outline the session, so thank you.

Please find my views below.
- Yes, I'm calling the readership( and a bit more than just readership, will explain below) attention, whoever has access to the web is called to be part of Sail.
- Sail currently has 2 main sections, Think aloud & Interview section. Think aloud is meant to tough on a current topic that may be discussed round in the community, shed light on different angles, and simulate further discussions. the foreseen vision of it is to encourage people to discuss matters on the website with other people and widen their perspectives. which is not really happening yet. the interview section, its meant to interview people from different walks of life to inspire people to do something new and maybe follow their dreams. new topics are brought in by readers who want to participate. May's issue, we added a column for Mohamed Al Jneibi, who talked about technology's effect on life indirectly in an interesting way, we got 2 potential new columns for next edition as well, they may not be regular, but they'd participate when they can. we're considering new columns as and when suggestions come, either to be by same people or to rotate on interested writers.
- comparable magazines, at the time I started, didn't notice comparable, now I can say Khaleejesque.com is definitely a great comparable magazine. Brown book is more into Art as I've noticed, and its a printed magazine rather than eMagazine like Sail.
- I'm looking forward for engaging participation, to get the feeds on what the likes and dislikes on current media, what they read what they don't, what they'd like to read but cant find, to suggest a movement, to suggest new initiatives and support co-existing eMagazines.

I hope this was a comprehensive response? please do let me know should you think of any more :) Looking forward for the BarCamp
